I was looking to purchase a 2x w/ red triangle. It occured to me that the triangle is too large. It seems to me that at 100+ yds, it will cover too much target. Is this a correct observation? Is there a better choice? I seem to like the lower power, wider view and that red triangle.

You actually just aim with the top tip of the triange, so it will only cover the bottom of the target. You use the whole triangle for close shots.

At longer distances the triangle will cover much of your target. But like imposter said, you just use the tip of the triangle and you will be fine. Practice is the most important thing.

If you use the tip of the triangle to shoot a small target at 300 yards and your sighted in at 50 your going to miss the target. At 100 yards you will be shooting high so the size of the triangle is a non issue as none of it will cover the target.
