Lets see your .50 Beowulf pistols!  I Want to build one to deer hunt with and this is a good way to get more excited about it. Not that I need to get more stoked about it. Please include specs

That's not exactly a common thing you're after, I've only seen about a half dozen others on the web.

Still, this is mine.

Wears a King Armory 0450, Steve Lubecki's 50 beowulf dust cover, and an MGI buffer. Used to have a wolff 1.5x power spring in it but all that resistance was short stroking the action. The rest is more or less unimportant.

Nice. Thanks for the info. Do you hunt with this or just have for fun?

Factory 12.5", yes. The brake brings the length to an even 14" though it's not pinned.

The main issue with a beo build is ammo availability.  Being a pistol, you will probably want to shoot it a lot.
If you are going that route, I'd pick up reloading supplies.

Have you considered the .458 SOCOM? A little better supply of reloading components and better ammo prices.

I doubt the deer can tell the difference.

It's a superior round, but the main point of a Beo pistol for hunting is the straight walled cartridge clause.

Here in Iowa the .458 socom is a no go. Even 300 BO would be nice. So looking for a .50

That looks like one bad ass rifle. What's the recoil like? I have a 308 w/10.5 inch barrel/sig brace setup and had to tone down the powder on my reloads to keep the recoil down. What was your cost to make it (if you don't mind sharing)?

On the shoulder it's very tame,  the concussion however feels like a slap in the face. In a pleasant way, if that makes sense. Total cost is somewhere over 2k but that's with all the bells and whistles - before I started adding anything to it it only cost me a little over one.

I would tell you to try a flash can but not sure they make one for a 50. I have one on my shorty 308 which pushes everything forward.

Would think one hit with a 50 would de-bone the deer with one shot.
