I am using a red dot on my upper that came with it, but i think a 2.5 pwr. or so would be perfect for this gun. What are you guys using for scopes?? Thx. Wayne B.

Can't speak for the SOCOM, but I use a Leupold 1.5-5x on my Beowulf. I've used different sights from an ATN reflex (no good), a Smith and Wesson dot sight to the Leupold and the Leupold has worked the best.

Eye relief! and a solid mount.

The recoil on my 458s are no worse than 308s, so any name brand should survive (of course, I don't shoot full power 500gr loads... MartytW blasted an IOR, I believe, with full house 500gr loads.  I'm subsonic only at 500gr and above).

Also, check the beowulf picture thread--you might find some info there that'll help.

I have a VariX III 1.5-5 Illuminated and it does very well for me.  Have tried a couple of different set ups for mounting.  Have finally settled on the Armalite 1 piece 30mm mount.

Have shot everything from 300-600 grain full power loads and have had zero problems.

Mine sports a EOTech 512-AA unit.  Plenty good enough for shots out to 200 yards with the 1 MOA center dot and as fast as can be with the 65 MOA outer circle for close shots.

Yes it is the GB upper Marty did for ARFCOM, I was the guy who headed it up (all 9 months of it), Marty did a EXCELLENT job!  Its a predator p-12 forend, makes for a might impressive look, and its weighted correctly for my set up to ballence everything out.

As one of the lucky GB Upper owners, let me say, Thank you for your hard work in bringing it together.  How hard was it to install the P-12?
