Has anyone shot any of the surplus 1998 .308 Royal Ordanance ammo being sold through Wideners? It's listed as current U.K issue ammo and is sold in a 640 round sealed metal can for $105 + shipping. 147 gr FMJBT copper M-80 bullet and boxer primed. Doesn't say what the case is made of though.

I have a renewed love for my M1A since I scoped it and want some good quality ammo for it.

Be careful there. I don't think that is Radway Green ammo. I think it is the Indian junk that is going around. Better call and verify before you buy any.

Haven't heard anything about this Indian ammo you are referring to but the add in Shotgun News made no reference to it being Radway Green either and I suspect they would have jumped on that boat. It does state that "This is the finest surplus 308 ammo EVER AVAILABLE".

Surely they wouldn't lie would they?

Wideners web site says 5% of the rounds are "creased" and won't chamber or fire.  640 rnds for 85.00.

WTF??
