MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.
WE ARE ASKING FOR INPUT AND SUGGESTIONS FOR OUR NEW WEAPON SYSTEM. WE FIRST DISPLAYED OUR NEW P-308 AT RGE SAR SHOW IN PHOENIX, DEC. 1-3, 2006. BEST REGARDS, PATRIOT ORDNANCE FACTORY P-308 MID-LENGHT 16.5" GAS PISTON WEAPON SYSTEM W/ AMBI-BOLT RELEASE LEVER (PATENT PENDING). |
Make sure the excellent PRI "gas buster" charging handle for the SR25 will fit it.
Very nice. If it is at all possible, design it to accept G3 or FAL mags as these are readily obtainable and inexpensive.
Sam |
I NEED ONE NOWWWWW. Good looking unit, are they available yet? Are the mags same as for DPMS (I hope so)?
Regards, C1 |
As I understand, neither G3 or FAL mags are ideal for use in an AR platform. I believe several issues have been raised, ranging from lack of bolt hold open to the FAL mags not working with rotating bolt/locking lug designs. Mags that work are much more important than mags that're cheap and abundant (to a point). |
Solid point. I have several DPMS mags and all have been 100% reliable in my DPMS Regards, C1 |

Frank,
How about offering it in a 20" barrel, or AT LEAST an 18" one. I have little use for a 16" .308 rifle. Neuters the ballistic potential of .308 to basically a suped-up AK round. Before someone interjects, a 16" barrelled .308 will launch 147/150gr FMJ Ball rounds at about 2500fps. A 123gr AK round hits about 2400fps. So, it's @ 25gr's heavier and 100fps faster. Meh, not enough of a ballistic difference for the PRICE difference. |
I'm watching this project with interest. I likely won't be buying a .308 anytime soon, but this project and LWRC's have both peaked my interest. I, too, would prefer to see this rifle with a 18 inch or longer barrel. |
I'm sure you're correct about this, and had heard about the hold-open issue. But I can wish...... Sam ETA just noticed the thread on uppers board. DPMS steel mags it is. Oh well. |
Nice I just wish there was a standardized magazine for all AR10 types.
OUR P-415, P-416, & P-308 DON'T NEED TO OPERATE WITH A GAS BUSTER CHARGING HANDLE, BECAUSE ALL OF OUR WEAPON SYSTEMS ARE GAS PISTON OPERATED. THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION. BEST REGARDS, PATRIOT ORDNACE FACTORY |
THANKS FOR THE INPUT. WE CHOOSE THE DPMS MAGS THAT ARE NEW AND WORK WITH THE FACTORY AR LOWER PARTS. THE SR25 MAGS WILL ALSO WORK WITH OUR LOWER. THESE MAGS ARE NEW AND RELIABLE. OUR NUMBER ONE CONCERN IS RELIABILTY. OUR CONCERN WITH USING THE G3 AND FAL MAGS IS RELIABILITY. THEY ARE USED AND WHAT CONDITION WILL WE RECEIVED THEM IN. BOTH MAGS WILL NEED TO BE MODIFIED FOR THE BOLT HOLD OPEN TO WORK (GREAT FEATURE IN THE AR'S), AND WILL ALSO NEED CUSTOM PARTS FOR THE BOLT HOLD OPEN TO WORK WITH THESE MAGAZINES. SO AT THIS TIME WE WILL NOT OFFER THIS. BEST REGARDS, PATRIOT ORDNANCE FACTORY |

GOOD REQUEST. WE HAVE ALOT OF REQUEST FOR 20" UPPERS. OUR 16.5" MID-LENGHT CARBINE GAS PISTON P-308 WEIGHS 8 LBS AND WILL FEEL AND MOVE LIKE A AR RIFLE WHEN USED. BUT ALOT OF USERS LIKE THE BOOMERS. |
YOU NEVER KNOW. AT THE 2004 SHOT SHOW IN LAS VEGAS THEIR WAS ONLY TWO COMPANIES DISPLAYING GAS PISTON WEAPON H&K AND US (PATRIOT ORDNANCE FACTORY). NOW YOU ARE SEEING MORE COMPANIES OFFERING THEM. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS. OUR GAS PISTON WEAPON SYSTEMS ALL COME STANDARD WITH "C.R.O.S.". THIS ALLOWS OUR WEAPON SYSTEM TO OPERATE WITH AND WITHOUT LUBE. BEST REGARDS, PATRIOT ORDNANCE FACTORY |

Ha! Then I must have imagined the gas being blown in my face when I was shooting the POF 9.25" piston upper suppressed. Granted, it isn't nearly as bad as DI, but it was still very toxic. And that wasn't even full auto. |
That being said, will the P-308 upper match up with the DPMS LR 308 lower also |
Exactly- I have the LW but blowback still sux. Why does every piston manf think that the gas magically disappears? BTW nice rifle though |
+1 Should have incorporated a charging handle on the side and close up the charging handle/knuckle buster/gas leak hole. |
YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF CARBON COMING OUT OF THE BARREL/CHAMBER WHEN SHOOTING SUPRESSED. USING A GAS BUSTING CHARGING HANDLE OR A SIDE CHARGING HANDLE WON'T RESOLVE THE HUGE AMOUNT OF CARBON THAT COMES BACK THRU THE BARREL/CHAMBER FROM THE BACK PRESSURE OF THE SUPRESSOR. IT IS VERY EASY TO SEE THIS WITH OUR SILICON NICKEL RECEIVERS. CHECK OUT THE SLOW MOTION VIDEO OF A HK416 WITH A ACC SUPRESSOR SHOOTING FULL AUTO. LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE/CARBON COMING OUT OF THE EJECTION PORT. RSILVERS TOOK A VERY NICE SLOW MOTION VIDEO. My actual suggestion wasn't based upon redirection of gases; merely that the PRI CH is a much more robust & ergonomic unit.
Why didn't y'all go the side charging handle route? |
VERY FEW REQUEST THIS OPTION. |
POF-USA Does it? |
Sell a CA legal version. Both a pinned 10 round mag version, and a stripped lower. Lots of pent up demand for a 7.62 lower.
WE DON'T OFFER A SIDE CHARGING UPPER. |
INTERESTING SUGGESTION. |
Please check your PM. I sent you a message several days ago regarding a problem I am having with my POF 416. So far no response.
POF-USA - ????? That's nice, because I didn't ask about side charging upper. My question; Will the P-308 upper match up/fit a DPMS LR 308 lower |

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
OUR P-308 (.308 CAL.), GAS PISTON WEAPON SYSTEM WILL ALL COME "STANDARD" WITH C.R.O.S. (CORROSION RESISTANT OPERATING SYSTEM). OUR CORROSION AND WEAR RESISTANT COATINGS ALLOW OUR WEAPON SYSTEMS TO OPERATE WITH AND WITHOUT LUBE. BEST REGARDS, FRANK PATRIOT ORDNANCE FACTORY SILICON NICKEL PLATED BILLET MACHINED UPPER RECEIVER & CHARGING HANDLE (INTERIOR ONLY). |

THANK YOU! Great news, because you have gained a customer |

That beast is DANGEROUS and a LIABILITY... Please send to me ASAP for disposal. No mention of price range yet? I'd trade my stainless DSA FAL for one of these... Rmpl |

Frank-
I saw your rifles in detail at the SAR show and I'm quite impressed with the machine work, construction and design. I will be talking with you soon about a .308 package. Keep up the great work! ls |
