Make sure the excellent PRI "gas buster" charging handle for the SR25 will fit it.

Very nice.  If it is at all possible, design it to accept G3 or FAL mags as these are readily obtainable and inexpensive.

As I understand, neither G3 or FAL mags are ideal for use in an AR platform.  I believe several issues have been raised, ranging from lack of bolt hold open to the FAL mags not working with rotating bolt/locking lug designs.  Mags that work are much more important than mags that're cheap and abundant (to a point).

Solid point.  I have several DPMS mags and all have been 100% reliable in my DPMS

Frank,
How about offering it in a 20" barrel, or AT LEAST an 18" one. I have little use for a 16" .308 rifle. Neuters the ballistic potential of .308 to basically a suped-up AK round.

Before someone interjects, a 16" barrelled .308 will launch 147/150gr FMJ Ball rounds at about 2500fps. A 123gr AK round hits about 2400fps. So, it's @ 25gr's heavier and 100fps faster. Meh, not enough of a ballistic difference for the PRICE difference.

I'm watching this project with interest.  I likely won't be buying a .308 anytime soon, but this project and LWRC's have both peaked my interest.  I, too, would prefer to see this rifle with a 18 inch or longer barrel.

I'm sure you're correct about this, and had heard about the hold-open issue.    But I can wish......

ETA  just noticed the thread on uppers board.  DPMS steel mags it is.  Oh well.

OUR P-415, P-416, & P-308 DON'T NEED TO OPERATE WITH A GAS BUSTER CHARGING HANDLE, BECAUSE ALL OF OUR WEAPON SYSTEMS ARE GAS PISTON OPERATED. THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION.

Ha!  Then I must have imagined the gas being blown in my face when I was shooting the POF 9.25" piston upper suppressed.  Granted, it isn't nearly as bad as DI, but it was still very toxic.  And that wasn't even full auto.

That being said, will the P-308 upper match up with the DPMS LR 308 lower also

Exactly- I have the LW but blowback still sux. Why does every piston manf think that the gas magically disappears?

BTW nice rifle though

+1

Should have incorporated a charging handle on the side and close up the charging handle/knuckle buster/gas leak hole.

My actual suggestion wasn't based upon redirection of gases; merely that the PRI CH is a much more robust & ergonomic unit.

Why didn't y'all go the side charging handle route?

Sell a CA legal version. Both a pinned 10 round mag version, and a stripped lower. Lots of pent up demand for a 7.62 lower.

Frank-

I saw your rifles in detail at the SAR show and I'm quite impressed with the machine work, construction and design.

I will be talking with you soon about a .308 package.

Keep up the great work!
