I just bought a .22 magazine conversion at a gun show. It's the unit that slides into an exisiting 20 or 30rd usgi. My question is, what is it supposed to look like when it is properly installed? I have the Ciener .22 bolt, and when I put my converted magazine into the well, it will not go in all the way. The converted mag hits the bottom of the Ciener bolt before the mag locks into place. (My Ciener mag works perfectly fine.) Will these two units not work together?

You probably bought a USGI M261 magazine. Pretty sure it won't work with a Ciener.

The ciener uses a proprietary magazine. The M261 uses a 20 round mag as a carrier. They are not interchangeable. I have the M261 and the arrangement works fine for me. It will not work with your Ciener. For spare mags for that you would have to get them from Ciener.
