Is 50 yards the right distance to zero for the IBZ using a Eotech

Yes, a 50 yard zero = 200 yard zero regardless of which sight is on your rifle.

The reason you had to lower the rear sight 2 clicks below 6/3 is because it was designed to be zeroed at 300 meters and not 200 yards.

Try zeroing at 42 meters. This will give you a FLAT trajectory to 250 meters.

IBZ is for 50 yards and 200 meters. A 50 yard zero will be effective to 275 meters IMO. If you need any more range than that, use a little hold over or move your iron sights to 8/3.
