How to zero and use the AR sights? Trying to direct a newbie friend .
I know we have to have something here but everything I can find is just a circular cluster to the dead maryland AR site

The easy way is to zero at 25 yds. This results in a 300 yd zero which is about 5" high at 100 yds. The IBZ is very good if you're willing to make a few changes to the rifle.

Since all mine have BUIS's I just use the 50yd POA/POI (the IBSZ). Like Molon mentions in the link it is the flattest and most useful trajectory sight setting for the 5.56mm over the greatest distance. IIRC it gives no more than 2" above or below line-of-sight out to like 220yds. Anything past that just hold over a little.
