Did anyone ever make an AR15 pistol that doesn't use the buffer / buffer tube? I've been toying with the idea of getting an AR-15 pistol but w/o the ugly buffer tube sticking out.

From my understanding, the LR300 action evolved from a AR-15 pistol that Allan Zitta designed for use in the Long Range event of "The Masters" shooting competition. The original version of the "Master Blaster" was manually operated, but if I remember correctly, Zitta later designed a self-loading model to cope with the time limits imposed for each string.
