$1,000 + DPMS lower? I'd sell the lower in the EE and start a new build.

My next AR upper's going to be .458 SOCOM, but my next 5.56/.223 upper will be:

Sabre Defence flat top upper w/ T-numbers, M4 extensions and midlength CL 1/7 barrel w/ A2 FH.
F marked FSB and ARMS #40A sights.
Daniel Defense M4 9.0 Rail System system
Three DD Rail Covers
BCG and CH included

$845 shipped from Talon Arms

the dpms lower reciever is actually pretty nice and a lower is just that and only serves to contain the lpk and stock.

keep the lower and use the money for other things

$1000 sounds like at least 2 "new" AR's built off the EE.

What kind of setups do you have now? What are you looking at?

Was just offering what I thought I would do in his situation...not trying to start another DPMS bashing thread. I'd start another MEGA / CMT build.

Apparently, you've never heard the song "$1,000 car" by the Bottle Rockets . . .

Is $600 of that for the scope?

A grand will buy an entire rifle from most of the top manufacturers.

6.5 Grendel Overwatch upper...

you'll need a little more to add to the left over balance for the proper scope...  nice.

LMT M4 upper, Eotech, ARMS #40, CMT BCG.  I'm biased, thats my newest setup on my LMT lower.

Well, I'm leaning towards the LMT upper actually ...

I currently have a Bushmaster M4 A2 rifle ...  I love the rifle.  It was my first black rifle it's just that it's time for another.

I realize that $1k is a lot of money but I'm looking for a good A3 type upper and I do plan to go with the EOTech site.

I looked at CMMG uppers as well and I've heard nothing about good things about the company ... I'm just not sure what to do yet.

Someone mentioned I could have 3, possibly 4 uppers for $1k and I'm sure that 2 or 3 are certainly doable but would they be quality uppers ... ???

Out of curiosity, have you done business with Talon before?  I've never heard of them but that doesn't mean much since I'm relatively new to the ar-15.

Those were my thoughts as well ... I bought the DPMS lower from a buddy of mine who had shot it for awhile before I got a hold of it.  I bought a 6 position stock from CMMG earlier last year to put on the lower too.  Seemed like a good lower to me.

Thought of this too but if I buy an entire rifle, I still have a lower sitting around waiting for me to pour more money into it ...  At least this way I remove the temptation.

I haven't bought anything from them yet, but others who have have left feedback here.  People seem to like them.
