You can only have three guns and three types of ammo.
1. Handgun
2. Shotgun
3. Rifle

What would you pick and why?

1a. Glock 22 (duty weapon - already supplied) :)
1b. Glock 27 (back-up to duty weapon - already own)
2. Remington 870 (duty weapon - already supplied) not a huge shotgun fan
3. BM M4A3 (will be personally owned, but used as duty weapon - purchase pending)

I used to carry Beretta, and when we switched to Glock, I was not really into it. After shooting one, fell in love with it (hence, the Glock back-up).

(ammo? - Speer 40 S&W180 gr TMJ - department provides for duty weapons; I trust them - I guess) and as for my AR?... Whatever my AR buddy recommends to me. Charlie 31

Just say no!

To pointless polls.

Glock 21
Remington 870
AR-15...or M4...or possibly an M1a SOCOM 16 for the extra muscle.

Glock for its dependability and quality
870 for its dependability and because its all around well built and well priced.
AR-15 cause if I could only have one gun I'd want to mod the heck out of it. M1a because its tough and has better knockdown power than the AR.
Link Posted: 9/21/2005 11:12:53 PM EDT
One M16 lower with all the uppers I want. Technically just one rifle.

Rem 870 marine magnum.

Sig 220
Link Posted: 9/21/2005 11:17:12 PM EDT
12.5" Noveske with a short dot, a pistol that would be suspiciously like Irish317s, and a 14" Benelli with a pistol grip and ghost rings. Ammo would be 5.56mm TAP, 230gr SXTs and 00/Slugs.

Hunt with slugs or a 5.56mm 75gr bullet in the head. Its easier to hunt with a fighting arm than it is to fight with a hunting weapon.

My Bushy carbine, mossberg 590 pistol grip and my Colt 1911 Govt model. Why bcause they are weapons in common use.Very prolific weapons in world standard calibers.Reliable and tested for real even though we get civilian only semi-autos at least for the AR..the other 2 still in militaryt use.Pistol grip shotgun you may ask why?Because encounters are 80% of the time gonna take place most likely at night at well under 50 yds.Besides it makes it easier to carry. If i shoulder a weapon its gonna be the rifle. In an urban environment engagements would be way closer.I heard of city fighting in Iraq taking place at distances of 30 ft.So compact but powerful are the order of the day.

To lingum 14 if more people in louisiana thought like you theyd probably be dead. With terrorists possibly on the loose in this country..hey use your hunting guns or what ever you favor.Dont condemn others for their tastes in personal protection weapons. To each his own. When there 15 feet away and have AKs use your bolt action or what ever and mow em down before they get ya.You dont mention what type of fire arms you prefer before bashing some ones preference. If you own a military type rifle you just made yourself a hipacrite with that comment. And yes I can hunt with my M14 clone...308.ARs are perfect for me no big game in the city.So I can shoot terrorists and then eat em,does that meet the hunting criteria for you.I have a weapon I can hunt with, have and do use for that and when I come back to where I live I have a weapon for the most likely variety Ill run into 90% of the time...the two legged variety.Thats what our choice of weapons is ideal for.

GLOCK 23/19........either is a good choice for concealment/duty.....22 conversion for it.

Some kind of m4..........with different uppers. Primary in 223 other uppers in 7.62x39, 50 bmg, 499 LW, 22 lr

Rem 870 with a couple of barrels. primary would be 18 inch rifle sights, 28 inch field barrel

I might consider trading the 870 in for a Thompson contender with a host of barrels!!

There you have it 3 guns with lots of accessories!! Shame I don't have any of those since my recent boating accident, where they all landed in the Ocean.

#3 - Colt 6920

USP compact .45--small enough to conceal if needed, but a formidable fighting handgun.

16" AR of some sort--exact brand doesn't matter too much. Mine is a CMMG.

Can I trade in the shotgun?
Link Posted: 9/22/2005 7:09:54 AM EDT
Tikka T3 lite stainless - .308
Remington 870 - 12ga Special Field
Smith & Wesson 629 Mountain Gun .44 Magnum

--------------------------------------------------

a .308 bolt gun because the .223 is too light for big game hunting, and the Tikka because it shoots great and is much lighter than my Rem 700 PSS.

The 870 needs no explanation, my favorite model is the Special Field. 24 inch rem choke barrel, can use it for hunting or defense.

The 629 Mountain Gun is probably the most versatile handgun ever made. Can handle everything from CCW to grizzly defense.

seriously though, of my guns:

1) Springfield XD9
2) Bushmaster w/ ACOG
3) Rem 870

when the world ends though and the zombies come, i'll probably trade my AR for one of the M16's that'll be littering the streets.

Fantasy version:

1] Barrett 50BMG (magazine fed semi-auto) Ammo: Armor Piercing Incindiary
2] Full Auto Saiga shotgun with large capacity mags/drum fed. Ammo: 00 any brand.
3] FN Five-Seven, Ammo: The highly evil armor piercing.

Affordable verison:

1] Colt 6520 Ammo: Hornady 75gr TAP (own this)
2] HK USP Ammo: 9mm Ranger (black talon) (own this)
3] Benelli Nova I suppose, might look at Winchester. Ammo: 00 anything. (next in line)

Of course, on the fantasy version, a Glock 18 is a serious contender to the FN. Still, defeating body armor trumps having a full auto pistol imo.
