Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - YHM vs. MI - 2 piece, 4 rail handguards

I am looking for a 2 piece handguard with rails and I am wondering, what is the difference between the rails on the YHM and MI handguards?  The YHM rails are not solid, with a gap in the middle where the MI rails are solid all the way across.  Will most gear mount to both of these?  Is one rail better than the other?
