223 XM223M1

GET THIS "80 GRAIN 223 AMMO" ONLY FOR USE IN THROATED MATCH GUNS"
DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE ONE

What exactally does this mean, and is it safe to use in my AR15? This quote is from Ammoman.com, at the bottom of the .223 page.

Anyways, my interest was peaked when I saw it and I'd like to know a legit reason I shouldn't use this in my AR15.

I think the biggest problem with this load is whether or not your rifle is throated LONG ENOUGH. The usual 5.56 nato chamber is throated long and 80 Sierra's loaded to 2.5 " OAL have room to spare. Army AMU loads 80's too 2.5" OAL along with the Navy etc.. Armalite- RRA DCM barrels etc run 2.370-2.415 OAL + .010 jump with Sierra 80's IMEXP.

If you have a GI 1:7 A2 barrel you should be fine. If these rounds are too long you can always seat them deeper ....
