All XM193 is BT right? I haven't used much BT, usually just flat 62 gr American Eagle. I've been reading the Ammo Oracle and it seems that XM193 is better than AE 62 gr while AE is more expensive? I've wondered if 55gr would work fine through my 1/7 bbl? Also, and not to start a flame war, but XM193 is preferred (in general) over Q3131A, correct? I've shot both and really can't tell a difference. Most of my current AR shooting is done 200 yds or less. I want just a general purpose ammo. One last Q, I've always stored ammo in the factory boxes, but it won't hurt to store lose ammo in an ammo drybox, right? thanks in advance.

Scale of Production (much more M193 is produced than 62gr AE).
Yes 1:7 twist is not an issue
I prefer Q3131A, but its more of a personal preference
No doesn't hurt it to store it loose.

A few people have reported better accuracy with the Q3131A.  I shoot milk jugs (with Wolf, XM193 and Q3131A) and various targets at 100m-300m so I don't measure it down to the inch like some guys.

I personally have found that the XM193 was a little less consistent but it was a bit more powerful "hot" than the Q3131A was.

Both of them are stored for my SHTF ammo but if money were no object, I would only shoot the Q3131A.

Just another opinion.

I prefer XM193 because it's AMERICAN MADE.  I have Q3131a too, and it's prettier, but I don't care too much about the appearance.

Can you guess which one I prefer?

Actually, I think they are both on par as the best SHTF ammo out there.

The only difference that I see as important between the two is the possible addition of flash suppressant  in the Q3131A. This results in a smaller flash and a slight ~50 fps (?) reduction in muzzle velocity.  Recent posts indicate that some lots of Q3131A (VA92....) may have primer/overpressure problems.  Unfortunately Q3131A seems to be harder to find lately and more expensive.

I would be curious to know if anyone out there has taken the time to remove a bullet from each and see how the bullet construction differs and if one has superior construction or possibly a better BC than the other?

Shiny or slightly dirty brass? Who Cares - My AR doesn't seem to

Made in Isreal or Made in America - Both fine with me. I would not feel the same about Made in China or France.

If one or the other would load them on stipper clips in a Battle Pack/Bandolier that would definitely give them the edge. (Hint,  Hint)

sounds like this is a Ford vs Chevy type deal. I've read just about everything there is to read on Q3131A and XM193 and they are very close in every way. Guess it's just a personal pref like most people say.
