Has anyone heard anything about this? There's a thread over on the Swiss Rifle Forum about it. So far, it only seems like rumor, but rumor is, Wolf will be making 7.5x55 Swiss, and it may possibly be brass cased and boxer primed.

i have not heard that, its time someone started making 7.5x55 ammo, i use norma but this stuff is more expensise than my .50 s&w 500(40.00 for 20 shots).

One guy on the swiss forum called Wolf and they said that they are making it.  Brass case and boxer primed.  Guess I can keep saving my GP11 and shoot wolf.

Yay!  Now I can buy another K-31 and make it my dedicated "Wolf 7.5 shooter." :)

I didn't neccessarily read that over there.  I read that someone HEARD it...

I sent Wolf an Email last night.  I'll post what they reply.

Wow this is the best news I have heard for a long time! Im glad someone is making this stuff besides Norma. Since the cases are boxer primed, it is an even better deal! Now i'll be able to hoard brass for reloads. I would have thought S&B would have been making it by now. I dont think Wolf itself will be making the ammo, but outsource it to Germany(Schonebeck) like it's .22LR and 12ga.

They need to offer a 174gr FMJBT and a quality, bonded SP round for hunting. Maybe a 150gr or 180 gr SP.

If your going to reload the Wolf brass, why even wait? You can get cheap good quality brass in this cal right now from Grafs. Besides these fine K31's deserve good ammo not cheap blasting ammo from Wolf. IMHO.

I'm betting that this isn't produced by wolf, but subcontracted out like their 22 ammo is.  If its anything like their 22 ammo, then this stuff is probably match quality!

I agree with you SevilNecrophile, as I said earlier in this thread that they might be outsourcing this ammo to the maker of their .22lr and shotgun ammo, Schonebeck, of Germany. If it is indeed German made, I think it will be more than just "blasting ammo", as Wolf .22lr is not crap. I do not think the Tula factory in Russia would have the tooling set up to make brass cased 7.5 Swiss, as all of its machines are set up for the steel cased Wolf production. If they did have that capacity, the Wolf .308 should have been made in brass as well. It does not make sense for them to set up all new tooling and locate a source for brass just to set up a relatively low production level round like 7.5 Swiss. Also, the dupe of this thread in the C&R setcion, states that the ammo will indeed have a correct 174gr FMJ, I just hope it is a correct GP11 profile!

Grafs is currently out of 7.5x55 brass and they are looking for a new supplier, so the appearance of this Wolf ammo is at just the right time.

Hmmm, wonder why they need a new supplier.  Maybe that brass is going somewhere else....
