Have purchased this ammo in the 50 cal ammo can on bandoliers/strippers and dated 1987. Can I expect the same performance with this as the IMI Winchester that seems to be very popular?....

I'm curious about this one as well.  I still have a small quanitity of WCC 87, and 88 Q3131.  I bought about a 1000 rounds of it for my Mini-14 ages ago, and am finally nearly through with all of it.  I can't say much about what came later, like the 1999 batch.  But I didn't have any trouble.  I haven't chronographed it, but function was fine.

It shoots and functions great. It is after all M193 and is right up their with Win Q3131A.
I'm all out of mine already.

I'm planning on shooting some of mine tomorrow.  Afterwards I'll post a contrast/comparison between it, some '02 production XM193 and some '02 vintage Q3131A that I have as well.  I don't have a chrono so I can't do a definitive review, but I'll try to make it informative.

I have a ammo can of the 87 head stamp stuff and shot off a bando of it last weekend.  Had more of a muzzle blast than my normal Q3131A, and no problems.  This was mostly rapid fire and mag dumps though, accuracy seemed milspec but I didn't put anything on paper, just cans, rocks, and other smaller targets.
