I found what I think is a pretty good deal at my local Wal-Mart on Winchester 100 rnd 9mm value packs. They are running just about $14 with tax included ea. That works out to be about $7 per 50 rnds or about $140 a case of 1000. This is new ammo with reloadable brass.

The employee told me that they are selling off their old stock at these prices, but once the new ammo get here to expect a very large price increase on most ammo and as much as $4 a box more on 22lr bulk ammo. She could be giving me a line of BS, but from what I can tell $7 per 50 rounds of new 9mm seem like a good deal at this point.

Check out your local Wal-Marts they still might have some good deals floating around. One thing is for sure there won't be many good ammo deal in the near future.

I bought some of the "white box" Winchester 9mm last week to test a new pistol.  It's not super accurate  but good training/plinking ammo at 25 yds. and the brass is excellent for reloading.  I'd get more at that price but our Wal Mart is out.

Right around 14 (14.88 or 13.88 I don't remember) is the going price for 9mm WWB at wal-mart right now.  They hiked the price a few months back.  Also hiked the price on 45 WWB, but not 40 WWB for some reason.  I would expect the prices to go up some more in the future, but not drastically.

Merrell, what part of PA you in? I'm in the Hermitage/Sharon area (Western PA) and it is the same here.

They were 10.99/100 about 4 months ago.   14.00/100 is still an
ok price.

Still a good price, just not a great price like it used to ne.

Heck, Wally world is my go to ammo place now.

9mm for $14.50/100 and Federal .223 HPs for $52.99/200 also 550 Rem golden .22 (yes, I have had good luck with it) $10.96 some of the best deals going.

Trouble is finding more then 1-2 boxes at a time.

I think the best deal going today in value for the shooter on a budget (95% of us) is the Fed 550rnd bulk 22lr box. I picked up 3 boxes of it the other night and the total was only about $32 out the door. I am not real sure why we have not seen a price increase in 22lr ammo yet but I can see that it is on its way very soon.

I think that the price of 22lr is going to go up at least $2 to $3 dollars a box or more this year. I figure that we will see at least that level increase just to the increased cost of shipping (high gas/diesel prices) not to mention the every increasing cost of lead, brass and copper that seems to have no end in sight.

I have a feeling very soon that we will look back and long for the day of $10 a box of 550rd 22lr.

From the info I have been reading over the last couple months, many money/market experts are saying that we are just starting the first phase/stage of a massive price increase in almost every item we need or use (ie. inflation).  Food, Fuel and Clothing are often quoted as major areas of concern. It like the mid to late 1970's all over again some folks are saying.

I even read a quote from Jim Cramer on one finicial site the other day saying we are heading for $1000+ gold with in the year.  I don't know what to think anymore, there is so much BS out there floating around, but one thing for sure I work more and more hours and my paycheck just seems to buy less and less every year.

You guys are about to make me go buy out my Wal-Mart on the 9mm WWB.  Last time I was there they had probably around 30 boxes.

I do think you'll see .22 go up to $15.00 this year for 500.

I just grabbed most of the wwb 9mm they had at my local Walmart.  It sounds like maybe I should hit another Walmart for 10 or 20 boxes.

I saw that in the sale ad, they didn't have any when I got there. They had 50rnd boxes for 8bux. I new it was only $14/100 at Wally world, so I didn't buy any.

Last year around this time it was running around 11.88 for 100. Then it jumped to 12.88 or around there. Few months ago it jumped to 14.99 or so. The .40 went from 17.95 to 19.99. They both jumped 2 dollars a box.

i still pay 10.96 per 100 at a wallmart not far from my house. it is the only store that puts it on sale. the store manager can lower the price if they want to. he said he puts it on sale a couple months to get people in the sporting goods department. i tryed to get the manager at a closer wallmart to match the price but no dice.

Is there a Dick's Sporting Goods in your area?  Maybe he is trying to compete with them.  They are always running sales on UMC 9mm, 40 and 45ACP.

Yep, unfortunately they only carry the .40 and .45 around here in the Blazer Brass. And it is less expensive than the WWB. Hopefuly they will get the 9mm also. I usually try to buy at least  1 box of something everytime I go to WM.. I've built up a nice stash doing this for the last few years.

Buy all of it. Good price. It seems any price these days is a good deal.

Same here but, I bug the shit out of them everytime to get the 9.

I bought close to 30 boxes, from two different wally worlds, when they had the Blazer brass 9mm on clearance last year. ($4.00 a box IIRC)

I still buy the WWB 9mm and .40 VPs, but none of the local WMs ever have any 223 ammo in stock, except the occasional box of varmint rounds, or UMC for $8 a box.

Blazer came out with a brass cased loading called "Blazer Brass".  

Listen to F.B. from AIM, Within a year, you'll be paying $9 minimum for 50 9mm FMJ. As rifle ammo prices stay high, that will increase demand on the pistol calibers and cause price hikes. I quit stocking 5.56 and 7.62x51 away for the most part and have been working on 9mm and .45acp. Those are the two pistol caliber that stand to increase the most in my opinion.

Foreign ammo is not going to be cheaper either as the dollar slips against the world currency market.

Look at the interest that the 9mm and .22 uppers have now, as compared to a year or two ago.

Even a $9 per 50, 9mm is still cheaper then decent .223 or 5.56 by a wide margin on a cost per round basis. It won't take a genius to figure out one can train for a bit over 1/2 the price on 9mm for the majority of their training then switch over to 5.56 for the longer distance parts of it.

Very True.  I finally decided to pick up a 9mm AR, and that was a major motivating factor.

lol, so im not the only one who picked up the 100 rd 9mm box.
It wasnt a bad deal for ball ammo. i was looking for the rem 223 rounds but i think they jacked the prices back up on those. i bought 2 boxes last month for like around 7 bucks each and the other day i went back he told me 9 bucks. so i gave him the ole one finger salute and took the 100 rd 9mm box.

Wal-Mart WWB $157.61/1000 (ten boxes at $15.76 per box including 8.25% tax)

So yeah, I'd say it's a fair price, brass cased ammo for $0.157 cents a round versus $0.169 cents per round for steel cased wolf....

Im in FL and the 115 grn WWB 100 rd is 14.56/100. I just cleaned out my walmart and took 1500 rounds. They also Have the 165 grn .40 WWB for 19.98/100 but i only buy that when they dont have the CCI Blazer Brass in .40 for 9.27/50 or 18.54/100 the Blazer .40 is 180 grn. Too bad they dont carry it in 9 there.

Just picked up another couple boxes of WWB 9mm 100rnd packs. The price is still around $14.00 here. There was only a few boxes left on display, I am not sure what they had in the back still in stock. The employee at the counter said people were buying ammo like crazy in the last couple months. I guess there is a lot of like minded people around here.

I think this ammo (9mm WWB 100rnd) will climb to near $20 a box very soon if things keep going the way they are...

550rnd Fed 22lr value box was still just about $10 out the door. That is a killer deal guys, we won't see that price level very long that is for sure. If you are a high volume 22 shooter/plinker now is the time to load up.

Hell, my wholesale dealer cost with shipping even if I order in bulk would be close to $13.50 a box of 550 22lr at todays prices. That price is with out any retail mark-up so figure $15+ tax at the retail counter near you very soon.

I hate to admit it but the days of cheap ammo are almost gone just like $1.00 a gallon gas.

It might be time to buy stock in Dillon, Lee and RCBS....LOL
