[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Will any of the YHM gas blocks fit under a Larue handguard?

I'm looking at getting a Larue 9.0" handguard to go with my 14.5" M4 barrel. I'm looking at the YHM gas blocks because YHM has a good reputation and they are significantly cheaper than the competition. Will either the Specter or the low profile gas block fit under Larue handguards? Thanks!

I believe you need a Larue gas block to fit under a Larue tube. Even it is a tight fit.

No the YHM will not fit.

Like Josh said, the LT gas block is probably your best bet.

The biggest obstacle is getting the LaRue tube over it. The only gas block that the LaRue tube will fit over is the LaRue gas block. Go figure.

Trust me when I say that your life will be MUCH easier if you go with the LT gas block. Reason? When doing the rail install you simply tighten the LT barrel nut (to a proper torque value) and then insall the LT gas block (with gas tube installed) onto the barrel. You then just SLIDE the LT rail over the gas block and finish the installation process.

The other issue that I have found with cheaper gas blocks is that they have burrs in the inside that can scratch your barrel. They are also sometimes out of spec (to loose or to tight). Buy quality, buy once...
