I was wondering if a full circle semi auto bolt carrier would work with a pre ban colt lower receiver that has the sear block in it ? I know a full auto bolt carrier won't work, but I was wondering if a semi auto one would ?

Thanks,

i am not sure if the semi autos will fit. but i think the COLT block goes to far rearward to allow the semi-auto carriers to fit. i could be wrong here though.

another option:
You can grind the sear block down to be nearly flush with the receiver. Use a bench grinder, go slow and use a wet sponge to keep the temperature down. Once finished put a little blueing cream on the fresh ground steel. The finished product will look real nice if you take your time.

No it will not. You will have to grind down the sear block for a full circle carrier to work...

Back in the early and mid 90's when Colt's was using the block I owned several of them, and ran semiauto SP1 type AR-15 bolt carriers in all of them with no modification. Now I cut the blocks out and run a full auto carriers in them.

Why would it matter if you run a cut carrier? The cut carrier works just fine... If you aren't running a full auto M-16, then the full carier has no disconector to trip and is not really doing much to make a difference.

Because half round carriers are creepy. They are so creepy Colt's quit making them.
