[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Will a laser mounted on a railed gas block do a 'melt down'?

Has anyone had laser batteries or the electronics go south due to heat build up?

I know batteries and heat don't work well together and FSB's get pretty damn hot.

Trying to plan an upper build....

Are you committed to not leaving the FSB alone and running a laser on a railed HG?

I'm thinking of an M4A3 type flattop with as much mounted top center to keep the overall width to a minimum and also using a split rail with a 37mm m203 clone.

My plan is a longer railed gas block for a flip up sight and laser combo.

i would not mount anything other than a front sight on the railed gas block.
