MAN!  I have been burning up the internet looking for a good price on a stripped lower receiver from Bushmaster.  I already found a great price on my upper (MidwayUSA) and now I need to get the lower to finish it.  I have not found a decent price yet.  Best price for a stripped is $106.  That seems a little high for a stripped lower.  Can anybody beat that???

That is not two bad.  Spikes lower will run you anywhere from 89 to 99 plus whatever your FFL charges for transfer.

Yeah i agree...

106 is probably the best price youd get on a stripped bushy.  Might find a better price on the EE for a complete lower though.

Trying to keep the pedigree intact.  Got a great deal on a bushy upper.  Gotta make it pure.  Any help would be appreciated.  Keep your eyes open for a deal.  Mic

+1 if roll marks matter that much.

Depending on what your FFL charges for a transfer $106 is a good price. I do agree with the others here, watch the EE and you'll find one pop up there from time to time.

Thanks guys.  I pulled the trigger on the bushy.  This was something special that I am putting together so it had to match.  I have found some incredible deals on Aero Precision (69.00 !!!) and Spikes (59.00 !!!).  Even better if you buy quantities.  The next build I try do the budget build and see how they compare.  Had to keep this one pure.

I spent HOURS looking and you are right, 106.00 is the best I could find.

No need to apologize.  Lots of other goodies on that store site.  I'll just keep an eye out for future Bushy deals from them.  Thanks for the link in any case!

Are the Bushamsters' lowers any better than the rest ?   Just wondering if that's why the price is more ?

That is a good question BTW.  I have several Bushy lowers, and the same # of RRA, Delton, and LAR lowers.  Finish on the Bushies looks the best, but only by a hair.  Once its oiled up, it doesn't seem to warrant the price over the other lowers.  The engraving is top notch, but again compared to the others, I don't see the reason for the price premium.  I paid half as much for my RRA, LAR, and Delton lowers versus the Bushies.  Its a decision I still regret.

No. they are not.

Bushy is just charging the market will bear.  Some people will pay what they charge, so they keep pricing at that level.

Bushy Lowers are no different than Surplus Ammo and Arms ones for $59 bucks... except the rollmark.

in fact, i bet since bushy is such a large company it probably makes its lowers for ALOT less than smaller companies like SAA, so its profit margin is even higher.

Will the $26 difference really break the bank? I would rather pay the $26 to have a all matching gun. I would hope that the all matching gun would fetch a higher price on resale.

All matching parts frankengun (homebuilt) would not bring any extra money here, it's still a homebuilt gun. Obviously if you like having an all matching parts gun, I agree twenty five bucks is no big deal. I actually have a nearly all bushmaster parts frankengun

i dont think the average gun owner would know the difference between a built gun and store bought.  everyone i show my KD lower, Delton kit asks me where i got it, not how did i build it.

try selling that on EE.  yeah we will know, but joe blow the fudd that wants a AR will probably pay close to retail for our builds.  i know a friend of mine who i thought was one of us, until recently and i now know is a fudd paid over 1500 for his bushy A2.  he thinks my AR is way nicer than his and if he knew that i have $600 in it he would shit his pants.  i just lol.

I was assuming we were being honest and telling the seller truthfully what he was getting. If you are going to just lie all that matters is the lower, some poor schlub from your local gun club that you decide to pull a fast one on isn't going to be able to tell an "all bushmaster" frankengun from a Bushmaster lower and model one kit.  Course when he finds arfkom, checks the serial number and catches on everyone in town will quickly know you're a liar

well im not selling anything Aimless, i'm just saying that the average guy wouldnt know. i can tell you one thing, a few years ago if i was buying a used AR and the guy said he put it together from a kit it wouldnt have mattered to me.

It would matter to me, every "home build" I have ever bought I stripped back to bare parts and rebuilt, for 2 reason. 1. I know its done right, 2. I know what kind of parts are in it and if they are worn. If you want to know how hard a gun has been shot look at the barrel extension wear and the gas port erosion. They seem to be tell tale signs.
