From a message by Wholesale Hunter on the Ammo Price List thread:
We have about 92 cases of the XM193 in stock right now. Not much, but it's here. XM193 - Click Here - $84.75/case. Our site says it is on back order because we haven't entered it into our system yet. We just got done with inventory. You can order online or call for availibility 888-900-4868 Actual freight charges apply. Thanks! $169.50/1000 NET + SHIPPING. Their last shipment in November sold out in 2 days. Per Wholesale Hunter - 500 rounds/case, when ordering online click through "Inventory" message, if any, order will be placed on backorder within their system, will begin shipping Monday, 1/10. |

Order placed |

I think they ended up posting the info here before telling their Customer Service Reps about the availability. The first Rep I spoke to wasn't aware of the ammo, but I later spoke to 2 others and a supervisor who knew it was physically available. Wholesale Hunter also posted the same info on the AR15.com Equipment Exchange this afternoon.
My suggestion - place an order on-line to reserve your ammo for shipment next week. |
Well maybe if you all didnt think there was a war that was gonna start on our soil tomorrow and buy 5k-20k rounds a month there would not be a ammo shortagehow
Everyone and his cousin Eb must be trying to order the XM193 on their web site right now. I've been trying to see my shopping cart there for about 15 minutes ... it's just sitting there.
Couldn't get the cart to work here, so I called in my order - they said the system IS working on their end, and chuckled that orders are "coming in", so the orders must really be coming in fast.
I can't even get the site to load. They must be getting hammered! BTW, anybody know what LOT they are selling? |
should've bought it when the page first loaded... now the page won't load
Maybe weather related. Central Missouri is getting hit with an ice storm |
It could be weather related, but my money is on the ammo buying onslaught. |

My order just went through. $193 delivered for two 500-rd cases. (My wife is gonna kill me, but oh well.) The web site is flakey, but stick with it and it will go thru.
OK...ok I'm able to get there now. $96.05 for 500. That's the final price. Hmmm...decisions...decisions.
More ammo....divorce...more ammo...divorce...hmmmm No money left....marriage saved...going to |
I'm in for 4 cases :)
Hopefully this is the 20 rd packs and not bulk, even though the website shows 20rd packs. |
Did anyone notice at the top of the ordering page it states the following...
WTH is up with that? |
I just called to confirm, the lady said it is in 20rd packs, and not bulk. They still had some left at 8:30am central. |
How does one get a hold of this already packed on strippers/bandoleers in an ammo can?
I finally got an order to go through about an hour ago ... I'm probably too late, but it was worth a try. I still need to replace what I used from my "strategic supply" this summer!
Wholesale Hunter always has had good prices on this stuff... I have LOTS OF IT too from the first time we slammed their site with orders, before they became an industry partner ....
1000 rounds - $27.67 shipping to the San Francisco bay area. The slowest method available. Even with shipping it's not so bad.
The fastest shipping was around $110.00!!! No thanks! You guys have whipped me into an ammo buying frenzy lately! My local shop Friggen' credit cards. |
I can't believe nobody jumped in and said GET BOTH! |
A lot of the on another thread paid ammoman an EXTRA $20 for 1000 rds!!! Seems he thought he was the ONLY game in Federal XM 193 town and decided to gouge buyers!
Not me! I just got 2000 more rds of the Wholesale Hunter stuff. Ha Ha ammoman!! |
I believe whats going on is....................Wholesale Hunter found some extra cases after their inventory. Instead of raising his prices, he just sold them at the regular profit margin he goes by. Which is a class move by him, incidentally. Ammoman raised his prices after aquiring another 400 cases of ammo from Federal. I imagine he had to pay more than usual for them due to the fact that other websites are also going up on their Federal products. Its just that simple...............it appears now that you are the TROLL! now doesn't it.......... |
I just placed an order for 2K rounds.. I could NOT get thru last nite to the site..
I thought about going for the full 10 case max,but did what I could.. |
Their site shows 0 in stock and on backorder. Does anyone know if this is accurate at the time that I post this? Thanks.
Well, I think that they have been hammered but it might be in stock. See the last post from Wholesale Hunter here. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=16&t=193267 |

I paid eric an extra $20. But I can afford it. I chalk it up to $20 worth of value, service, and a good, working relationship between business/customer. It's not for everybody; I do suggest that if you don't find value in some of those things, you might want to look elsewhere. Just don't complain on here ARFCOM when your shipment is missing, late or shorted or you can't return a damaged case, etc. I have a SG membership so I get ammo from them at a discount. So I guess you're saying all the other members here who pay regular price, they're being gouged? You don't know what the definition of gouge is..... |
Is it just me, or does it feel extra good to buy ammo by the case?
I like shooting it a lot more, but there is something good about seeing all of it in one place at one time ... right before you jam it into magazines and blast your way throught it! |
LOL...be nice. |
I have 1000 rounds enroute from ammoman but WTH another 500 rounds wont hurt.
Subtract another 4 cases, 100 boxes, or 2,000 rds from stock as of 9am, 1/7/05.
As for the pissing match above, I have bought from Ammoman as well as from Wholesale Hunter. Both are satisfactory vendors and since I get a fair product from them I go with the better bargain, which has been Wholesale Hunter the past couple of times. |
Another message from Wholesale Hunter:
XM193 is now OUT OF STOCK, We didn't have much and it went FAST. Thanks! Posted :: 1/7/2005 9:42:04 AM |
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please let me know if you get anymore in. |
I called at 9:30 this morning & I was too late.
The nice lady I talked to said it would probably be at least until May before they received any more. ____________________________________ The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you are already dead. |
I was too late too.
I got an updated e-mail late this afternoon with the backorder bad news! |
If an order was placed and its back ordered, will I need to call and cancel the order?
Or will they not charge my CC. I do not want to wait until May as one poster mentioned. |
I ordered on the evening of the 5th, still shows processing...Guess they are a little busy packing things up for shipping. At least it's not showing back ordered
My order date: 5 Jan 2005 16:26:48 Let's keep our fingers crossed. |
I don't remember ever seeing this Federal ammo sold on strippers in bandoleers. |
In my experience, their site is updated quite sporatically. Last order, back in Nov, their site said they had X number of cases for 4 days straight. Not updated at all, obviously. Or the time back in Nov when I tried to buy Glock mags, which were shown to be in stock. Got an email saying they were out, and had no idea when they'd get more. I told them that since I needed the mags sooner than "whenever we get some, might be awhile", to cancel the order. I also asked them to at least update their site once in a while...sheeze. |
You folks probably already know this, but just in case.....Ammoman is still showing XM193 20rd. boxes as in stock: "100 cases left in stock"
