Can anybody tell me who makes the lightest stock? I would like to have a 16" really light rifle for my second AR. I am going to use a Colt lightweight 16" upper and I'm not sure who makes the lightest stock or the lightest lower. Any help would be great. Thanks

Cavalry Arms MK2, synthetic lower and stock in one unit.

The Vltor Modstock is probably the lightest fix stock and is available in an "A2" length and rumors of a "A1" length is in the making. Vltors website shows weight comparisons:http://www.vltor.com/specifications.htm Standard Milspec A2 stock weights: 13.9 oz. Vltor Modstock with all components: 10.9 oz. The lightest package (including lower receiver) is the Cav Arms MK2. ls

ACE has a couple of stocks that are pretty light B

Lightest stock/lower combo would probably be the Cav Arms Mk 2 lower (should be available now). It comes in at .87lbs lighter than a standard lower with A2 stock - that makes it still more than half a pound lighter than the VLTOR stock. If you're interested in Lightweight check here for the weight of various options & gear: http://groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR15ShootersSite/weightinformation.msnw Here is a list of stocks and their weights (when available): http://groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR15ShootersSite/stocks.msnw?action=view_list&sortstring= FYI the ACE Skeleton is lighter (and a better length) then the VLTOR rifle stock.
