I'd go with Bushmaster or Colt, but that's just one opinion out of thousands on this board.

LMT, better then Colt or Bushmaster. Also, look at Cmmginc.com DPMS uppers. Both are 4150 steel barrels, 1/7 twist, T markings, and "mil-spec."

Better deal too.

What about rock river? There is a gun show next weekend and they always have a booth of rock river complete upper assemblys, i could just buy one then, and assemble it that night!!! (12:01 9/13) How is the quality of them. Didnt they just get a dea contract?

What makes LMT a better upper again? The hype? It couldn't be the complaints about LMT QC we've been hearing. LMT has a bit to go and seem to have gotten in a hurry as of late to get product to the market. I don't find LMT's finishing to be as good as Colt, RRA, or Bushmaster (in that order). Has anyone had a Colt, RRA, or Bushmaster upper "fail"? Must be those cool LMT T numbers? In any event, with a Colt, Bushmaster, or RRA (my choice as of late) you won't go wrong. I would never pay a premium for an LMT upper. So, what makes an LMT upper the "best" if it is machined from the same forging (but not as finely finish machined), and finished the same (but not as good of a finish) as a Bushmaster or RRA?

RRA is good quality. Yes, they have a model that is approved for purchase by the DEA.
