I bought one from sherluk and broke it the first time I used it. I didnt kill it in the vice but it was solid. Went to tighten barrel nut till to get the gas tube holes to line up and it snapped! I had maybe 50 ft.lbs on the barrel nut wrench.

Whats everyones experience?

I have the bushmaster action block and like it very much.  No problems.

I had to torque my barrel to 84ft/lbs to line up with the gas tube, the action block showed no signs of stress.

siennfein,

Another well regarded action block is the one made by Peace River.  I have one and it works great!  Brownells sells it for I believe around $48.00.  I bought it from FAC for around $31.00. The one from FAC came labeled "Brownells - Peace River".  Here is the link to FAC: http://www.gunsnstuff.net/index.html
