I am just looking for a standard 20" A2 model.  Generally speaking would you go with DPMS, Armalite ior Bushmaster.

I know that many of you would opt for a different manufacturer alltogether but I am only interested in hearing how these three stack up to each other.

if forced to those 3, armalite

+1 for Armalite given the choices.

Throw in pretty much anybody else (except Hesse) and you have a more desireable option.

Armalite, Bushy, then DPMS

I would go Bushy as my Armalite did not like wolf at all.

Bushmaster?

None of those, but if I had too, Armalite.

Of those I think only Bushmaster offers a gov't profile barreled A2 if that's what you're looking for, I like mine.

between those I'd have to go with Armalite.

Havig not owned a DPMS or Armalite, I have to say Bushmaster. I will not give a opinion of something I do not own or messed with.

Out of those 3 choice, Armalite.

Have owned a Bushmaster, Armalite, but never a DPMS.  However, it's hard to trust a company that labels their .223 chambers as 5.56 NATO

PROBABLY THE BUSHMASTER,BUT I would not be happy about it.

Any of those 3 will work just fine.  No kool-aid drinking here.

That said, I would go Bushmaster.

I wouldn't buy any of them. For the same cash I could get a CMMG. Which I did

I love it!!

Probably the response I most agree with.  If I were to go DPMS I would be absolutely certain to spec a chrome lined barrel.  I've not had any problems with the DPMS stuff I have, so I would feel confident with one.

Out of those 3 armalite.

Cheaper option not listed...rra or stag. Both make great rifles for less. I love my RRA.

Couldn't agree more... I love my RRA's

Out of the three though I'd say Bushy, I have no experience with the other two. When I have shot bushmasters I've never had any problems.

Out of those 3 choices I would say Bushmaster because they use better barrel steel than the other 2 but if you build you can get top quality equal to Colt for $150 to $200 less and get the right size .154 FCG parts and pins.

Why all of the Bushmaster hate? I thought that they were relatively well regarded.

It all depends on what time of the day/month/year it is.  They are fine.

COLT, even if ya gotta piece it together.  Seen new A2 kits from Colt online for $1100.
Then get a lower, put it together, and BOOM- instant winner !  Maybe better prices
on EE, but insist on the Pony...first time, every time !

Remember when you were in school and the snot nose kids had to have a Polo shirt for everyday of the month. They grew up and still act the same. If it doesnt say some hoity toity name it is not good enough for them. They think the rifle instead of the rifleman does the work.

Trust me I can shoot a Colt owner just as easy as a Bushmaster owner @ 400 yds. with a Bushmaster. It is all to do with the shooter.

I love my bushmaster so its really up for you to decide....but there are SOOO many more options out there

Bushmaster makes good stuff. Awhile back the anno was coming out kind of funny but I have shot a bunch of bushmasters and they are good.

I have had such amazing luck with my RRA that it will be hard for me to ever get anything else.

Back in 2001 I bought my first AR. Everyone then said buy a bushmaster, that colt wasnt worth the extra money. Glad I did, saved money and love it. Now everyone says go Colt. I am very happy with my bushmaster, depending on which models, you can almost get 2 bushmasters for the price of one colt.
