I was wondering what manufacturs made ar10 lowers? Looking to build one thanks. Norcal

armalite and eagle arms makes the ar10

dpms makes their LR308

bushmaster doesnt make 308 lowers any more

knights makes theirs and sells as rifles only

And the only AR10 lower you can get for a "build" is the Eagle Arms lower as Armalite won't sell "Armalite" marked stripped lowers.

DPMS probably sells stripped .308 lowers too, but they're not AR10's.

I offer this photo as Evidence that Eagle Arms receivers are AR-10's as well.
Of course they are Armalites, but they are not on the CA banned list nor is the EA-10 if that also exists and I think that's what the original question really concerns.
The "Armalite AR-10 (all models)" is specifically on the banned list.

The Eagle lowers I have had were marked EA-10....

Wonder if the EA-10 is the old way? Or the new way? Or of they do both as they see fit?

At the end of the day, only a Mark Westrom company holds the AR-10 designation now.

My FFL is still worried about the "div of Armalite" markings on the side of the Eagle receiver because they could possibly determine that the Eagle receiver is really an Armalite and then I am stuck with an illegal AW.

I'll cover the FFL costs on both ends.

Well, I just emailed Armalite to make sure I wasn't dreaming about the EA-10 rollmark. I am 99% sure that my first "AR-10" was marked EA-10, since I bought the lower separately from the upper.

Hell, maybe I just dreamed it up...

I can't imagine California would miss banning a weapon that already existed.

They banned them in 1989 by model then in 1999 by "type classification"
The "Type Classification" wording just got overturned by the supreme court, so there is a gold rush of un-named lowers coming into the state right now.
We can't assemble them because we also have a features law.
Once they add them to the banned list, they have to allow 90 days for registration.
Once a registered AW, we can have all the nasty features we want.

It's sad, I know, but it was 80 degrees on christmas day...

I'll let you know in a week or 2. Janet told me my Eagle Arms .308 lower should ship soon. I think EA-10 was the old way, but we'll see in the next few weeks.

Hmmmm...

I'll have to take 'inventory' this weekend. At last count I had 8 Eagle .308 lowers. I'll let you know how they are marked.

Has anyone seen a lower marked EA10? I'm thinking that EA-10 is just a part number that ArmaLite assigned to the Eagle line, to differentiate from the ArmaLite line. I dunno...

...like I said. I am fairly certain one of my old Eagle lowers was an EA-10.

I believe PCGuns has stated the ones he is selling are marked EA-10.

That's odd. He IM'ed me they said EA-10.

Maybe it was a catalog numbering and not the actual markings...

Two comments on this...

First, DPMS is not selling stripped lowers right now even though they have them listed.
They said they are too busy selling complete rifles to bother with lowers.

Second is the problem of the DOJ's list.
In particular is this entry on the Kasler list: "DPMS Panther (all)"
Good luck getting a DPMS receiver into CA...
