Kingfish,

I noticed ammoman.com has Federal for $12 a box.  Hope that that helps.

Igman is so underpowerd it is almost a galley load.  Use the Prvi Partisan.  Top of the line. ammunitionstore and others caryy it for a good price.

AFAIK the surplus I'm buying, marked "Prickskytte" is loaded by Norma, and is some of the only remaining surplus for this caliber.  I asked a friend what prickskytte means, and he said its sniper or marksman.  So far, out of my Swede Mauser, its been nasty accurate.  I'm finding it at the local shows for $5-$10, but mostly its in the $9 range.  There was an ad in a recent issue of SGN that had 200 battle packs for like $78 shipped.

Another surprisingly good ammo for the 6.5x55 is Wolf Gold.  I am shocked by its nice accuracy.  I found out its loaded by Prvi Patizan, and they have a good rep.  I can get it for around $10 per 20, same for the SP load.

I want to get my grubby hands on both the PMC Silver and Federal Gold Medal SMK loads.

Why buy overpriced surplus, when you can roll your own.

I have some of the Swedish surplus and find that it shoots like match ammo, kind of like the Swiss and their GP11, pricey but worth it for accuracy.

I would avoid the Swede made surplus, it has a bad rep for poor storage.  the Hirtenberger that came in tha battle packs that was made in the 60's and 70s's is the stuff everyone like so well.

I have a bunch but save it and reload.

NOT the best value though. FNM either from there, or a case rate from Cole Distributing, shoots at least 50% better in my Swedes. Igman has also had misc cases all sooty like they never really sealed right in the chamber.

New FNM is made by Igman.  Sad, it used to be great ammo.

Darn, I already ordered the Igman.  I'll shoot it up and then buy the better stuff.

Where can I find the Wolf Gold?

Unfortunately, they are discriminating against me since I live in Annapolis, Maryland and they won't send ammo to me because I live about 25 miles from DC.
