i would go with the troy or the samson as there almost identical. ive had a troy 7.0 and i currently have a troy 10.0. i would stay away from the 1pc free float rails, unless you have an action block, barrel nut wrench, and some experience with ar15 gunsmithing. if you do go that route then go with the dd lite rail as its really simple to install for a 1pc free float rail. ive had just about every rail made ecept for the surefire and the midwest ind. and i feel that for a first timer the troy is the way to go.

I don't think you would be going wrong with that one at all. I have a Daniel Defense that is similar to that one on my 9mm. Good luck with it. GS

The Troy rail your considering is a really nice rail. Locks up tight and is easy to install. Two minutes with a dremel tool then is attaches firmly with hex screws. It will not move on you at all. Plus the extra length of rail is nice to have if you plan on adding any accessories to it. I am absolutely pleased with mine in every way.

I vote Surefire all the way. Easy to install and tighter than heck.

I have pretty much decided on the Troy rail. I like how it looks, heard its pretty tight, it has a good price, and Troy makes all the bits that are used on the S&W guns anyways (rails for the M&P-T and the pop up sights). Now here is the big question: Do I order the forearm I want or the EOTech I want first? (can't afford both at the same time hahaha)

I plan on keeping the front sight and getting the rail that the site fits through. I think I am going to get the EOTech first too. Its a little more useful and my flat top upper looks naked right now. |
