Owing both, Id say the Lite.

ETA pic and to say I didnt mount an optic on either and the 9" midlength would obviously have less flex at the end versus the 12" X.

I have an Omega-X and I thought it and the Lite used the same mounting technique.

Since you have both, whats different?

Thanks
Bill

If you look at the Lite it has that plate that goes behind the barrel nut that the 6 big screws go into. As you know the X has those 4 little allen screws pushing into the front of the DD barrel nut.

They use the same barrel nut but don't attach the same way.

I'll be that guy, why are you putting the optic on the rail?

+1.

Also, the Lite and Omega X have different profiles. The Lite feels rounder to me and the Omega X is oval.

sorry - I should have said FSB instead of optic.

Good to know on oval vs circle.

I have both and im pretty sure thay both have the same oval profile, if you butt them togather end to end their the same contour.

edit:  take a look at beltfed74's pic where the barrel exits the handguard's

The profiles are not the same but they are close. The Omega X feels slimmer to me. It's not a big difference but I notice it. BTW, the Omega and Omega X have the exact same profile.

They most certainly feel different. A lot different than even the measurements show. Honestly the X feels better to me due to the way I hold. The width of the X with LaRue index clips feels as wide as the Lite does bare.

Why not?  A T-1 or a MRD on a 1 O 'Clock mount on the rail, perhaps?  I've put optics on my A-2's KAC / Troy with no problem.  I wouldn't put an optic on a quad rail that relies solely on the tension of the delta ring, though.  The rail must be clamped onto the barrel nut itself, ala KAC or Troy (non FF) or any of those FF rails.
