I under stand that the closed "back end" of the 30 rounder is suppose to be stronger.  I would guess that it has to be for the spring pressure.

the design and heft of the 20 rounders to me is stronger.  A plus is that the feed lips do not crack.

What is the experience of the other people on this board?

The 20s are stronger because the body is one piece of aluminum that's welded to itself.  30s are made from two halves welded together.
