TA31F ACOG in LaRue LT100 mount, gonna be used as an alternative optic (I think, or else one of the dots will become the alternative )

Pretend it's going in a hard case with one rifle or the other. I'm a huge fan of the EOTech and the Po' Boy I don't care for in the least.

Option 1:

EOTech 552
Bushmaster Superlight 16" Upper
MI gas block
11" Troy TRX Exteme
PSA Lower/LPK
VLTOR IMOD std.
Hogue Grip
Viking Tactics Mini-L4 in VLTOR mount for now, Haley Strategic Dropwing soon

Option 2:

Aimpoint Comp ML2
LaRue Po' Boy Special (seldom on the rifle)
Bushmaster M4A3 Patrolman's Carbine
Cut down to 14.5" perm. attached Phatom f/h
Daniel Defense Omega Rail, LaRue index clips + handstop
VLTOR IMOD Clubfoot
Hogue Grip
Viking Tactics L4 or Surefire M600 Scout in Haley Strategic Thorntaill

I'd dump the Eothingy, and run the ACOG on the superlight, especially since there's no front sight in the way.

The M4 type is good to go.

Both are nice, BTW.

Thanks but I don't think the EOTech is going anywhere, except maybe if I put another upper together

Considering that the TA31 RCO M4CP is calibrated for a 14.5 inch barrel, your best bet is option 2.

I'm glad someone offered a reason why but it's not the RCO, I haven't seen anything on a calibration for the TA31F. I was always planning to put it on the black rifle but I never had a good reason why.

Oh sorry, I just read the title of the thread and assumed you were talking about the RCO.

The TA31F uses a "hybrid" BDC calibrated to make COM hits out of both 20" and 14.5", and intended to be used on a flattop receiver with the TA51 mount.

As for which of your rifles to put it on, I would put it on whichever rifle is more consistently accurate. Go ahead and "stack the deck" and maximize your advantages at range, while using the less accurate barrel for closer work with the less precise, unmagnified sight (I know the TA31F is not a precision sight).

If I'm just flipping a coin - I say put the ACOG on the M4 style rifle - because it's just more "right."

Also good for 16".

option 1: looks like a longer barrel and superlight doesnt matter if your gonna use it like a precision rifle and not a bullet hose.

Option 2 for me.

Option 2 is what I would choose. The Eotech is nice on the first rifle with a clutter free view. The ACOG will work nicely with your second rifle and the FSP.

Option 3 just send it to me j/k. I would go with option 2

Someday maybe. I'd probably want an ACOG with a 7.62 calibration for that though!

Personally, I'd avoid putting the Eotech on option 2 because I hate having a front sight post or something like that and an Eotech. With the ACOG, it magnifies right past it and doesn't obstruct the field of view (I think right?)

So I'd have to say option 2 as well. Maybe even slap an LE style stock and grip on there and make it a very close to military clone, if you're into that kind of thing.

BTW, awesome two rifles

I used to have a LMT SOPMOD stock and KAC RAS forend on #2 as a sort of US mil. M4 clone but I decided to lighten it up a bit about two months ago. Then this opportunity to own an ACOG presented itself and I was almost starting to wish I hadn't gone and done that!

I went with the consensus.
