A friend of mine was issued a polimer one in A-stan....one of the 2 legs didnt survive

There are only 2 models that I know of. The origional alumn model that has been discontinued. The polymer/stainless model. While the legs look polymer, they have stainless steel inserts. Both are very heavy duty, but of course, if they are issued to our boys in green(or tan) they will get broken. These are a tough good piece of kit. |

Be careful. There are fakes out there that are all polymer.

How can you spot fakes, any things to watch out for?

In the Marine Corps we have the Polymer grip pods for M16's and the SAW doesnt get issued one by S3.. they can always buy one if they want it but it isnt issued.
