Can you use any BCG in a upper receiver that DOES NOT have forward assist? Or is there a special non-serrated carrier that must be used?

to the best of my knowledge, either would work.
the only caveat is that an non-serrated BCG, though it would still function, would not allow the use of the forward assist if so equipped. no forward assist? no problem.

In a word, yes. The non-FA upper does not care what kind of serrations (or lack thereof) may be on the carrier. Proceed.

That's kind of the way i was thinking. As in the serrations were to the "inside" of the O.D. of the carrier body... Thanks for the replys!!
