The 1.5x16 offers a greater field of view, but the 1.5x24 offers more flexible eye relief with less field of view. Am I right on this?

Which would be a better choice on a flat-top CAR15 allowing quick acquisition for targets at closer ranges...50-100 meters.

Thanks!

Im curious why the 2x20 has more field of view than the 1.5x24.
Doesn't larger objective = wider fov? or is there more to it?

Generally, more eye reilief equals less FOV.

+1

I ahve the 2x20 with Amber Triangle reticle. It is fast as hell, and I can easily hit at 200yds by putting the top of the triangle on my POA.

Boom, you said for pure speed, you like 1.5X. How much slower is the 2X?
With the 2X would you have to drill a new hole, or is the relief good enough?
Thanks.....Chad

EDIT:
Does drilling the hole mess up the see thru for the irons when mounted on an A1?
