SAW

the EE

BTW, the CMMG barrels are not real LW bbls, they use a .750 front sight base.

That's actually a good thing since it allows them to use the F front sight base.

Colt makes .625 F front sight bases. They use them on the 11.5 LW flattop uppers (R0933).

That's fine, but they don't come stock on the thinner profile 16" barrels which makes them essentially useless as far as I'm concerned.  The only way a standard A-frame FSB makes any sense is if it is drilled to your barrel.  If you're going to use setscrews or some other methond anyway there are other options.

I saw the prices on the 1:7 lightweight barrels: OUCH puts it mildly.

I am surprised that I have not been able to find a company that puts them in a kit.  I just may have to go with DPMS' 1:7 M4 barrel sold through Del-Ton in a kit.

I met JKiser today at a gun show and he said that MAYBE, if there is enough interest, he would contact Stag to make a run of 1:7 twist barrels in a few months.  I told him that I sure am interested.
