My new M1A should be here in the next two days, and I want to pick up a Turner sling.  Any recommendations on where to buy?  Price is, of course, a concern, but I'd like somewhat quick service as well.  It would be a plus if I could also pick up a ratcheting type chamber brush for it as well - forgot to get one with my other cleaning supplies.

Also, which length should I get?  It is more rifle dependant or body size dependant?  I'm 5'10", small-medium frame.  If I get the long one, any possibility it would be too long?  Or better to go long than short?

Thanks,
Rocko

Creedmoor sells them. http://www.creedmoorsports.com/C1061.html

Or, http://www.turnersling.com/index.htm

or Georgia Precision,

The sling can be too long, but as you suggest, too short is worse. Counterintuitively, the longer slings are more appropriate for the AR15. I'm a 6 footer, not especially long armed and have the 54"... was a hair too long on my M1A.

An even better sling is made by Les Tam, in Hawaii. Makes the Turner look like a lightweight. You can find out more about his slings at http://www.sharkysdive.net/lestamslings.htm

Les doesn't do much with the computer, but his service is incredible. When you get a sling from him he will want to talk to you personally, and will customize the sling with you initials and a stamp of you favorite branch of the military, if you want. Mine has WWI vintage sling hardware... a really nice personal touch. The sling is solid as a rock.

I've had both and like the Tam sling better, but the Turner is very very good.

Les's contact information:

Don't forget - he's on Hawaii time... don't call him first thing in the morning from the continental US: might make him a touch cranky.
