After searching the web for over 3 hours I cannot find a souce for a wooden stock set for my AR. Specifically I'm looking for a SP-1/A1 type handguards and pistol grip.

Model-1 sells the wooden buttstock, I'll be ordering one as soon as I get my first unemployment check. (yeah, it sucks being unemployed) But does anybody have a source or know of a dealer that sells the rest?

Anybody haev pics of an AR with wood hardware? I've seen them before, but it was a few years ago.

Thanks

While your searchin' the net for wood stocks maybe you could look for the ability to post a complete subject line. [:)]

As for the stocks, the only ones I have ever laid eyes on were at a gun show 3 years ago. They were beautiful! But, they were on a pre-ban rifle and the guy would not seperate them. The bastard!

Good luck on your search.

Bob

Good luck with the unemployment sir.  I was laid off in March this year.  Kind of a hard, scary thing to go through.

Best of luck to you!

Springfield Armory had some made about 10 years ago.  The handguards just didn't hold up, because when you make wood as thin as the plastic handguards were designed to be, they break very easily.  Thus, they didn't sell well and weren't around very long.  It's unlikely that you'll find usable handguards these days, and if you do, it will be someone selling ones out of their collection, not from a vendor.

Ummm....did it ever occur to them to just make the wooden handguards thicker?
