I always save one...
Nah, I actually have been down to three. When I was in the Guard, I was given THREE rounds of M855 to guard a TOW missile. After we'd fired it, I was told to keep the rounds as a "souvenir". I keep them to remind me just how Mickey Mouse the military can be. |

i dont worry how low my range ammo gets as far as SHTF goes. Of my SHTF stockpile, its currently at 400 rounds of black hills 68gr match jhp, and 350 rounds of Q3131. I plan to gradually increase the Q3131 stock until its about 500-600 rounds total.

There was one time when I thought I only had a 30 full, then I remembered I had hidden a case in the attic.
From then on for every 1000 rounds I buy, I store 500 away. So, if I want 1000 rounds to shoot, I need to buy 2000 rounds. Works out well for when the SHTF. I do the same with .308. |

Hmm... I've got two bandoliers of Lake City AP.... hmm.
But I've got a couple k 7.62x39 steel core, and 1k+ 7.62x51... probably close to 1k 7.62x54 for my NDM-86. lol |

I've run it down to 0 rounds many times.
I have never been without pistol HD rounds or .308 in some quantity, but .223 for some reason I like to burn up. |

I have it ass backwards only only 12 boxes of .223 (240 rds)
but 500 rds of 40 s&W (10 boxes) for the pistol. . I need to more rifle ammo cause I could shoot 500rds easy epsciailly if my wife or freinds come along. |

Me and friends burned up 2k rounds one day with the 3 of my Ar's. After that I told them if they want to shoot them they need to bring their own ammo. It got too expensive for me to be paying for their and my ammo. |

We all come into the world without ammo...........or is it clothing? Well, either way it was pretty lousy, IIRC.

I've never gone completely without some type of ammo. The ammo I have the least of at this time is 5.56/.223. I have about 800 rounds left out of a case of Q3131A that I bought during the fall sale at Bass Pro back in August 2003. That is now my SHTF ammo. I have a couple hundred rounds of handloads, two hundred rounds or so of S&B SS109, a few hundred rounds of XM855PD, and about ninety rounds of Guatamalan 5.56. That's it. I can't accumulate enough because I shoot that caliber more than any other.
Even back when I was broke all the time I tried to keep a couple hundred rounds or so. |

I've been down to 0 "shootin ammo" but I have about 60rds of Q3131A, one of those 40rd valuepacks, and 120rds of UMC FMJ that will not be touched unless something bad is happening.
Before I started my little SHTF stash (I'm in college so 210rds of store-bought ammo is all I can muster at this point) I got down to 0-20rds a couple times, but I always try to avoid it. WIZZO |

Well ever since I have had a job, I can honestly say that I have never been below 300 rounds..
I currently keep 2k just for SHTF right now, and have at least that much that I can go shoot. |

I have around 3600 XM193 in ammo cans. Since I can't bring myself to shoot it........
I have 720 WWB in bandoleers and 120 IIRC still in the box. Since I can't bring myself to shoot it........ I have 60 rounds of Remington 55 gr FMJ and 20 rounds of WWB 40something grain HP. So I guess you could say I have 80 rounds. After that I'll have to duct tape my Arisaka bayonet to my barrel and wait the last charge. |

I didnt mind running out back in the 80`S
But in the World today ? BETTER SAFE than sorry I keep lots of Fresh no surrplus M193 in stock My first pick is Q3131A/Q3131 just because its a BIT mor accurate out of my AR`S I really dont worry about 223rem or hangun ammo ! ( but I do have lots of it mostly reloads from my OLD Dillon) XTP/Gold Dots hangun ammo loaded back in the 96/98 If you are worried about not haveing ammo then buy a DILLON RELOADER and Tonsof primmers brass powder etc! 20001/02 Q3131A 2.39 a box in IN HERE in FL Ive seen WOLF go for 5bucks Since ammo cost WAY TO MUCH HERE IN FL. I buy from the Ammoman and Black hills @ Midway |
