I love my Eotech for my patrol rifle but I am thinking of buying a 16 inch upper for my AR10. I want a low power dot sight or illluminate rectical scope. Low power would be less than 4x. I know the Leopold Gilmore sight is exactly what I want but its too expensive at 800 bucks. I would like something priced under 400. Any thoughts? I want it to be a good sight from 0 to about 500 yards on a man sized target.

Less than $400 will be tough. A compact ACOG is in the $600 range and might do the trick. The 1.5-5x Leupold is a great scope, but also well beyond $400.

The best option in your price range, IMHO. I would recommend the NATO reticle. http://usaoptics.net/4x24m2tactical.html Here's the NATO reticle. http://valdada.com/vn/ior/reticle5?token=|url.token|

How about an Aimpoint ML2 2X should be in the $400 to $430 range.
