I know there are some conversion kits to use your regular barrel, but I'm interested in a complete replacement upper.  Everything I've read seems to point to the Keuhl being the best, but since he's essentially gone now....

I know of the DPMS, Carbon 15, and Victor/ADCO/CZ; are there others?

also the possibility of future mounting of a supperssor would be an attractive feature.

My favorite .22 upper would have to be the CZ, but I am a little biased because that is the only .22 upper I have ever had.

DPMS

I don't know if its my "favorite" but its the one I bought, and the only one I've shot, and the only one I own.

I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon, so draw your own conclusions

+1 on DPMS. I have the M4 and like it a lot.

You mean at the muzzle? Same as any other AR, it uses a standard A2 flash hider.

I can get the DPMS M4 upper for $438.67 and spare mags for $19.35.  Does anyone have a better source?

That's a deal. Jump on it quick. And get all the mags you can at that price.

I wonder if I wouldn't be better off with the 16" bull barrel model.  It's only $400 from the same source, and I could always have the barrel threaded for the suppressor later on.

If you're going straight to optics and don't care about irons at all, and never will, go for that. If you want the irons, or think you EVER will, get the M4.

I've had excellent results with one of those cheap Chinese carry handle sights on my .22 M4. I wouldn't dream of putting that cheap POS on a real SHTF gun, but it's worked well on the .22. Sight it in at 50 and leave it alone.
