The XTR line of optics has a thicker main tube, all have posi-loc, the cliks on the Turrets are louder and more pronounced on the XTR(tactical) scopes. also, you can get the XTR scopes in black or OD greenhat

Different reticles usually but I do not think there is a universal "tactical" definition. Tactical will have gradutations for ranges, etc.

About $200!

Using Leupold as an example:

1) More windage and elevation adjustment range.
2) Availability of milling or sub-tensions reticles.
3) More widely available illuminated models.
4) Bullet drop compensation dials.
5) Different turret configurations.

I suspect there is probably a difference in the Burris scopes too, but maybe something that doesn't mean anything to you -- or isn't something you need/don't need...
