A buddy pulled his well worn MFR model out of the safe that he bought second hand 25+ years ago.

He wanted my advice on upgrading it, but I told him with it being preban, he was probably better off selling it and building something from scratch.

Barrel appears to be a medium profile with no chrome, and no markings on it whatsoever.

IBTH

Its definitely Pre Ban and that alone will make the lower desirable to those behind the lines.

The lower alone is where the interest will be in today's day and age of quad rails CHF,HP, MP, Ion Bond, etc. etc.

The trick will be finding a price that someone is willing to pay that is worth you buddy's while to break down a working rifle.

Depends do magazines drop free from the magwell?Up here in Massachusetts pre-ban Bushmasters go $1000 to $1100 for 20" rifles and $1200 to $1300 for carbines.Colt rifles can reach between $1200 and $2000...so it depends on how good the lower is..olympic even then wasnt known for the best in spec rifles.

I would imagine that not many folks will desire the upper so place the lower on the market for $450-$500. That's about average for what our brothers behind enemy lines are paying for decent pre-ban lower.

Yeah, but what about for an Olympic?

Last year behind the lines I paid $1500 bucks for a basic A2.

I know I got burned, but I wanted another preban lower and this was local......
