We used to run threads like this on the board and I have not seen one in a while...  I am asking,

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BUY... BUT NOBODY MAKES OR SELLS?

Some examples:

1.  I want an SR-25 FF RAS (or copy)
2.  I want a trigger for a semi auto AR-15 that will do SAFE/SINGLE STAGE/TWO STAGE.
3.  I want an AR-10 with a CAR stock or in today's world a shorty stock that works with the AR-10.
4.  17HMR AR-15 upper

These are just three examples... What yould you like?

Flip up front sight that will co-witness on an ARMS #38S-EX Mod-L sight rail.

TRUE universal SureFire weapons light body. One similar to the SureFire M95 series, but with a body that can be used as a hand held flashlight as well.

I'd like 300 Whisper Brass. With a headstamp 300 Whisper or I'd be satisfied with 300 Fireball headstamp.

I'd like to see M4 Stanless barrels or more 1:8 twist barrels offered in CM.

I'd like to see stanless barrels offered in teflon black matte finish. Not special order.

Oh and I'd like to see a top $$$ AR15 offered in any configuration for $5!!!!!
Wouldn't that be a great world!!! [beer]

More 16" chrome-lined barrels in 1/7 twist.  Mid-length, carbine-length, postban, preban, heavy, pencil.

And I second Longshot-VA.  Darn Colt, darn SF.  Does the M95 use the 1.67" bezel of the M96 and M3-handheld? Grrr.

Affordable post-ban magazines in pistol calibers which are the full length of the magazine well for conversion kits without magwell blocks.

A telescoping stock with storage that is like a oem stock and not as fugly as the VLTOR stock...

A Rail system that is similar to the Knights but does not require to have the barrel to be taken off and is not like the Fobus.....

RIFLELENGTH SIR, FF RAS, or PRI FF tube for the AR10(T).

There is a HUGE market for this, yet they only promise a carbine length "someday".
Insane.

1) 16" 1/7 medium weight (between HBAR and pencil) mid-length barrel that is chrome-lined or offers better longevity and reliability than chrome-lined barrels.

2) Rail system that free floats barrel, offers continuous uninterrupted top rail to 1913 spec, doesn't raise rail above receiver level, allows easy removal of lower handguard for maintenance, improves cooling of barrel over current systems and better ergonomics. Bonus points for ease of installation and minimal weight.

Didn't I just see this on the board the other day. The two stage selector was between safe, and semi. You could send the lower in and they would engrave [red]set[/red] for you. Or did that one have burst too? I would think it would be easy enough.
[edited]
Found it. I don't think it's what you were looking for.
http://www.gggaz.com/products/settrigger.php
Looks a little overcomplicated for my tastes. The picture shows a full-auto marked lower, but the description doesn't say expressly that it is for FA only. It also refers to the AR15/M16.

Well, if you did, share a link...!!!

The only thing like you describe is the GG&G trigger which is for the M-16.  In their system, you have a SAFE SEMI and AUTO position with a SET TRIGGER in one of the positions.  The Set trigger is a very light pull....

I have never seen both a 2-stage and single stage trigger combined...  I have been playing with the pieces and I sure as hell know it can be done...  I just don't have weeks to invest in coming up with the trigger system as someone like KAC, RRA, or Jewell who already has a good 2-stage trigger would be able to just modify theirs to work....

....all they need to do is to make it work with a second disconect and an M16A2 selector....

M4Arc: I was under the impression that the Government profile barrels were 1/7.  If they aren't, I second that!  More 1/7 barrels!

Angst: Agreed!
Vermilllion: (below) That's an idea I tossed around before.  Lower the axis of the bore, give it bottom ejection, you can see into the loading port.  The pump becomes the heatshield since it is surrounding the barrel.

A laser ranging, autoadjusting, variable power red dot scope.  One that would adjust for bullet drop and automagically increase the magnification so my old eyes could see the target at 200+ yards.  Of course it would have to be solar powered in the daytime and operated by a solar rechargeable battery at night.

1. 14.5 inch light weight barrel in 1/7, chrome lined, with M4 ramps (I have one and want more). Or the Diemaco C8A1 barrels.

2. 20 inch A1 style pencil barrel in 1/7.

3. Removable carry handle with A1 rear sight and ARMS throw levers instead of thumb screws.

4. PAQ-4 or PEQ-2 IR laser with a little LED light so it could be sold to us civilians with out interference from the FDA.

5. TA-31 sized ACOG with the eye relief of a TA-11, 3.5 mag, about half the weight of the TA-31 and a quick attachment on the front for a PVS-14.

6. A Vortex or Phantom style FH with Gemtech Bi-Lock lugs that works with the M4-96D.

This is what haunts my dreams. Oh to be the CEO of Colt, ITT, Trijicon, ARMS or Knights!!

How bout a double side rail set up for the weaver rail gas blocks that come on Armalite and Rock River rifles, preferably one that attaches to the weaver block, up though the slot in the bottom were the two allen screws run through to lock the block. With two wings coming out from the bottom, then L'ing up to place the weaver rails just higher than 3 and 9 oclock, with about 3mm of clearance between the rail mounting wing and the barrel bulge of the gas block. Holes in the wing just below the left weaver rail would allow easy access to the allen screws of the gas block.

Or...

How bout 16" 1 in 9 Chrome lined J&T Expeditionary Barrels that are turned down to M-4 diameter under the handguard.

While I'm wishing for things, How bout an EOtech with easily changable recticles that just slide into the side and and you just close the watertight cover on the side and your done. with a wide selection or rectical types for around $30.00 to $40.00 each.

it looks to me like that gg&g thing is for both m16 and ar15. that thing would be great. i hate how whenever im about to invest in something i do all kinds of research, and once i decide what i want i find somthing ultra-cool that i wish i had got instead. now im not so worried about my rra wearing out, because if it does i can get the gg&g. thanks for posting that.

Since you've convinced someone other than Colt to make 16" 1/7 barrels, maybe you can help me understand.  What type of deal would need to be assembled to get the 1/7 barrels some of us want?

I'd like to see more companies offer 18" barreled uppers using the mid-length set-up. I think that would be a killer combination, and a perfect compromise between the 16" and 20" lengths. I know some "varmint" rigs are available this way, but I'm talking standard uppers...

Some of this stuff seems to be already available?

Thought I had seen a post on 17HMR uppers being available?

RNDEdge makes an AR variant in 338 Lapua (can't help the brass price though ...)

M4 stainless or 1:8 CM - check with PacNor, they offer AR barrels, I think they have 1:8 CM.

Rifle length SIR - thought it was on display at SHOT?

Bolt action M-16 - seems like a paradox.  What about the Tubb 2000?

Lever action AR - available in UK, in 9mm only last I checked.

AR with folding stock - ZM upper?

day visible green laser - hmmm.  Thought I saw this at SHOT as well?  Green was an option, but I might be wrong.  The unit that mounts on the FF RAS, projects either beam off center line to allow FS to remain in place (heck, can't think of the name to save my life, LEO/Mil only with the IR unit ....)

Vehicle mounted Phalanx ... wasn't there an article on some Suburbans with at least the Mini-guns?

As to my desires:
I second the HK USP in 10mm
Have them get rid of NFA 34, 68 and 86 ... let me buy and build what I want.
More machines in my shop or a venture capitalist who enjoys guns (anyone have Mike Dillon's number?  I have some ideas I want to run past him ...)

Marty

Ok, well then how about .50 caliber rifles that use perforated cartridge cases, allowing some of the propellent gases to escape through vents in the breech of the gun to greatly reduce recoil ... much like the recoilless artillery units fielded by the military.
