After the holidays, I'd like to build an AR type rife.

I'd like input from all, please.

Anything! Combat, Target, etc.

Unlimited options ... money isn't an issue.

And please mention all tools needed to complete the job. As well as specific ammo load.

Would like to see your ideas.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. All of God's blessings to our beloved Service Men and Service Women. Hope all of you come home alive and well.

Anything by MSTN. For target, probably an 18" Krieger barrel, PRI Gen. III handguards, LMT upper, any lower (they're all pretty much the same), either a Chip McCormick or JP Enterprises trigger, all Oberland small parts (they just look really cool), and an Ace SOCOM Long stock. For the optics, probably some crazy Zeiss, Swarowski, or Kahles $2000 scope.

For tactical, Oberland M4 and a CAS-V forearm and an ACOG. Why Oberland? Because their rifles look really good. The difference in quality versus any one of the other major manufacturers is marginal but if I had a pile of money with the intent on spending all of it on an AR, I'd get one.

caneau ...

Appreciate the reply.

I'll be looking into your opinions.

armalite ar 10 A4with 24" kreiger barrel with matching bolt, alum. ff tube, harris bipod, 2.5lb singlestage trigger, 10x tactical leupy in armalite one piece mount, and enough replacement parts to rebuild it at least 20 times, four semi-trailerloads of mags and match ammo and lastly a great lookin redhead 5'7" blue eyes 130lbs. 36-24-36 thats a badass armorer, she'd also have to shoot as good as she looks.

Here is what I want next:

flat top upper, kreiger or CLE 18-20" 1:7-1:7.7 blackened barrel, Larue rifle float tube, PRI folding FSB, TA31 acog, ARMS 40L buis, RRA 2stage trigger, hogue grip, TD panels, magpul ladders, QD attached harris bipod, VLtor or RRA M4 stock.

Let me know if she has a sister.

icantdance, just talk to Wes from MSTN. He's an amazing custom AR builder and can put together anything you'd like.
Just to give you an idea about prices and what you should be shooting for...

Upper:
Krieger barrels run about $500 each
Railed Forearms $300-$350
Upper receivers: $150
Bolt Carrier Groups: $150-250
PRI Gas Buster Charging Handle: $90
Miscelaneous parts: $150

Lower:
Stripped lower receiver: $150
Oberland Small parts: $125
High quality collapsible stock $150-250
Match trigger: $150-200

Total with labor you're looking at $2300 or so. Add another $1500 to $2000 for optics and rings, and you're gonna be a bit under $4000 which is about as much as you can reasonably spend on an AR.

Whatever you do, build it yourself. Don't pay some gun yuppie to build it for ya. It is a lot easier than most people think. You will learn more about Ar15 by doing it yourself than anyother way. All of the info is on this website.

As long as it's pink and has a fluffy bunny painted on the stock, I'm happy.

It would involve an MRP and lots of accessories.

If money isn't an issue, then something in FA...

I'd like to build an RRA 18" varmint rig and drop a real nice scope on that puppy.

SAM-R clones using both 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 SPC, custom built barrels from/by Kreiger or Lilja. I'd beg, borrow and steal to get two KAC front flip sight bases. KAC railed FF tubes. JP Stainless bolt carriers with new Colt bolts. Armalite A4 receiver (just got an email from them stating that ALL ARMALITE A4 receivers have M4 ramps). Run down the standard list of misc. high end parts to fill out the project.

Then I'd build my own 1000yd range, (since money is no object) and do my own long range showdown.

Why not?

And if I did go FA, it would have to be something unusual.

Appreciate the reply ~

What type of glass would you choose for that 18" er?

I've always been partial to Euro glass ... but a Luepy would be just fine.
