Other than I have an extra big hammer now, is there any modifications I can do to this thing to make it function like a collapsable? What about anything else?

On some of the stocks all you have to do is remove the screw that goes through the latch and get a new CAR length receiver extension and plunger assy and put it back together. You'll need a CAR buffer and spring.

Thats what I was thinking too, but I havent found any place that sells parts by piece for telescoping stocks. Usually its all or nothing.....

Oh wait I just realized, I would need the lever that allows you to move and lock the stock in different positions. Where can I find one of those...?

I think ADCO will sell you a conversion kit.

I am actually looking for one just to put on a plinking rifle I built. I was assuming these would be flooding the market after the ban ended but nothing yet.

I wonder what these are worth? 50 bucks? 25..... who knows. I cant imagine they are going to be wanted.
Link Posted: 10/7/2004 11:01:28 AM EST
Hahaha looks like Bushmaster is still charging $100 bucks for the old fixed ones...... crazy!

I have seen them being sold for the same price as they were before the ban ended. I was going to try to wait until the prices went down...if they ever do. Once the lowers come in I might just have to pay normal price for one.

you could take 4 of them and make a good table.

I'll sell you mine, how much?

$25 and shipping?
give me an offer

This is the fake telescopic buttstock sold by Bushmaster, with spring and carbine buffer.

I just got a functioning stock with spring and buffer from Sportsmans Guide for $29. Why anyone pay more than maybe $10 or $20 for a mutilated "fixed" stock?

Cause you got a chicommer.... and mutilated fixed stocks will likely have better components. If yours runs ok, then great. But those crappy made in taiwan $29 CAR stocks are flooding the market. I already broke one... never again.

$10 was all I paid for an RRA fixed stock. I would not consider paying more for one as the conversion kit from Adco runs $45 and new telestocks can be had for $60-70 and don't require hammering and drilling.

I got $20 for my fixed tele , maybe it was $25 in just a few minutes after posting on EE. It is far cheaper to dump it off and get what you really want.
