My grandmother-in-law is going to give me $100 bucks as a belated Christmas present.
I currently have a RRA Elite A4 with flip-up rear sight, standard midlenth handguard, hogue grip, 5C2 flash hider, PRI latch, and 6 position stock. What should I spend the $100 on for my AR/gun habit? |

You know somebody's going to tell you to pony up and become a paying member of this forum . . . And they're probably right. I should too . . . Also, are you a member of the NRA? If not, you should be. |
I just put my money where my mouth is . . . $24 for a "bronze" membership . . . |
I'm a member of the TSRA.
And I don't drink enough beer.....to spend Christmas money on it. |
Does that mean you're not a member of the NRA? You can say what you want about the NRA but it's clear to me that the Assault Weapons Bill would not have been allowed to expire without them. If ever there were a group of shooters who should support the NRA it's the black rifle crowd . . . Sorry to pound on you but you asked what you should spend your money on. Any shooter with money burning a hole in his pocket and isn't an NRA member really should think about taking care of business. |

Mags sound like a good idea. In fact, my wife gave me several for Christmas.
Other thoughts? |

Half on ammo and for $50 you can still have the best hooker in town
I could send you a very nice bottle of sand from the beach here in guam and I'll even through in a young green coconut all for $50.00 shipped (+3% if paypal) all your friends will envy you.
No, really. I'm serious... Gene you could make a real pina colada...... come on..... |

Dude, put that cash in the old relationship bank. Spend it all on her!
Now before the non-married crowd starts talkin shit, STFU! Us married guys know that every once in a while these little token gestures pay off big time. Honey instead of spending it on me, here, go buy yourself something. Two months down the road, its hun, Im going to the gun show....ya come home with $200 worth of stuff, she remembers that you are a sweet guy who has made sacrafices for her, and you slide on in with no problem. I dropped $1550 + at a show on Dec. 4th. That is out of the 2 G I took with me. Now this is right before X-Mas and I hadnt shopped for her at all. She knew I was spending 2 G, but I got some bargains, so I came home and dropped the remainder in her lap. Here baby go buy yourself something. Guess what, since then I got more ammo, targets, and other goodies and she hasnt complained once. Stuff I couldn't find at the show. And Im ordering more stuff today. Not a peep, cause I still got some collateral in the relationship bank. Come on guys, our hobby is damned expensive, so sometimes it pays to give "the allusion that you care!" That's what I'm considering. Either that, or more mags and ammo. (I'd use the latter in a training course as well.) |
Sounds like you got all the fancy extras, so I'll go with the crowd favorite as well and say Magazines. You can never have too many. |
I'd vote for AR related tools if you don't already have them.....action block, armorer's wrench, punches, etc.
ETA: Or maybe a high quality set of gunsmith's screwdrivers? |
good job, bro; Im waiting on my member upgrade too. And +1 on the NRA membership, do it and you will never regret it. |

Cheap hooker = $5.00 Rotgut = $5.00 (MD20/20 will work in a pinch if Thunderbird isn't available) What's he going to do with the other $90.00? $35 at Planned Parenthood for a VD test after the cheap hooker. $20 for Crab shampoo That leaves $35.00. I say get $35.00 worth of ammo. You can never have too much ammo. Hardwarz |

I always love seeing that pic. That's a beautiful rifle and photo. I say spend the money on ammo. Never hurts. |

That may be the clearest photo I've ever seen of an AR. Did you take that? If so, what camera did you use? Beautiful. |

Trijicon night sites front and rear under the 'C' note limit, may not seem like you got anything ...til its dark.

+1 I can't wait until my 20" looks like that. What rails system is that?? Larue? |

Dang.
It looks like she's going to "take us shopping." I don't think gun-related purchases are going to fly after all. However, I guess I could use some new clothes. |

It's actually just a quick and dirty photo using my Olympus DSLR E-1 and the 14-54 f2.8-3.5 lens. The beauty of the Olympus is that it's as rugged as the AR, splash proof, and good for over 150,000 shutter actuations. Many thanks Edwin |

It's actually a LMT MRP upper, integral rail, 16" barrel. Here's a 13.2 LaRue Tactical on a 20" for comparison. |
