I have a friend that is going to sell me a thin barrel off of a SP1. What is an SP1? He said it is skinny, but chrome lined. Please tell me what to look for.

Chrome lining will look silver and be rust free. It the barrel is clean you can see where the chrome starts and ends on either end of the barrel. IF its a real sp1 barrel Id imagine its marked too but someone else will know how theyre marked.

I think it ought to say C MP 1/12 or something similar. Skinny, twenty inches long. Its a 1/12 chrome lined barrel, a good walking rifle if you use 55gr or lighter ammo.

It should say C MP chrome bore, at least that's what mine says.

Where can I find a front site to put on it?
What kind of ammo (grain of bullet) can I shoot in it?
How accurate are these barrels?

1x12 twist. No front sight is on it?
Use 40gr to 55gr rounds. Fed XM193 and Win Q3131a would be excellent.

What is an SP1 though? He said it came off of that.
Is there anything I should be observant of when I see it?
If its "skinny" is that a bad thing?

There is nothing wrong with the barrel being skinny. A skinny barrel's accuracy will tend to be influenced more by all the stuff attached to it as it heats up from firing, but that is not really a problem for normal shooting. If you are going to rip off 50 rounds as fast as you can, don't expect the greatest accuracy when the barrel is blistering hot( expect it to still be decent).

Thank you guys so much.
Where can i find the handguards, pistol grip, and stock at a reasonable price? I like the picture of the rifle in its original configuration (triangular handguards), they look very sleek.

Sarco has the A1 buttstock and pistol grip. You could probably get HGs off the EE here, I've seen them listed. I have one of those Colt 1/12 slab side pencil barrel uppers, very light weight and easy to carry. I think I like it better than my A2 Bushmaster. Something about that handguard just looks classic.
