Never seen a mag like this and was wondering what it is and what it is worth?
The base plate says:
Armalite(trademark)AR-15
patents pending
CAL.223
COLTS PT.F.A.MFG.CO.INC

Early Armalite "waffle" mag.  Problems from design led to removal of the horizontal indentions.

It's worth whatever the market will bear.

Which can be a little bit surprising.

I've had it for a while it was in a box I got years ago with some other 20 round mags.

The only thing I'm sure of is that you have to pony up some big bucks if you want the particular mag that the dealer is listing for auction.

I make no claims about its "worth." That is, as previously mentioned, dictated by what the market will bear. I've seen similar waffle mags listed on gunbroker for equally high prices. We'll see if this one sells.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for that mag--but I don't collect rare AR mags.

Thats a really rare mag. Early Armalite Waffle mag.  If you can find the right buyer you might get $100+ for it. But good luck, they stopped making them because they functioned like crap. They are only good for a conversation piece.

I have seen them sell for $40.00

Let me say that they wouldn't be worth that much to me
