I am wondering what is the difference between M193 and the Q3131A in terms of terminal perfomance, fragmenting, and such. From what I can see they are the same weight and similar construction.

About 100 ft per sec.

edit, sorry about the sarcassim (sp?)

The federal I have is a little bit faster, But the Q3131a seems to be cleaner.

The .223/5.56 Fragmentation pinned post has velocity info on both.

Much less than that.

Both meet the M193 spec for velocity and will fragment. Terminal performance should be darn near identical seeing as they are very close in MV and use the same bullet.

The Q3131A is produced by IMI to military specs and is properly sealed.

XM193 has come out in various degrees of quality (with some lots lacking the sealer).

Given the choice I always opt for Q3131A, over the slightly hotter XM193.
